I used to begrudge every evening that I sat down and paid my Louisiana homeowners insurance. Then, one horrible evening I saw a blinding light enter my dining room. Within milliseconds there was a crash that made me throw myself onto the floor and half under the couch. I stood up and looked across the hallway toward the dining room, and there were headlights poking in through the wall onto the table and china cabinet. A young man stared ahead, dazed and confused. I couldn’t help myself from screaming, which brought the driver back to reality.
Unfortunately, instead of staying around to help me figure out what had happened, he stumbled out of the car and ran off into the night. I called the police, and they called the tow company to get the car out of my house. Once all the sirens had gone, and the reports had all been taken, I was left with a gaping hole in the front of my house. We were able to find the owner of the car, thanks to the license plate. Unfortunately, his auto insurance had lapsed. Thousands of dollars of repairs would have been hanging over my head, if it had not been for my Louisiana homeowners insurance.

Mr. Jensen the Commercial Note Buyer
Mr. Jensen was a commercial note buyer. He would find businesses that were interested in re-financing their loans, but weren’t able to do it through the bank. Mr. Jensen would purchase the loan and the business would start making their payments to Mr. Jensen. Mr. Jensen made money and the businesses saved money because Mr. Jensen offered them lower interest rates.
One day Mr. Jensen received a phone call from a close friend. His friend told him of a sweet old couple that owned a cupcake shop. The couple was having a hard time paying payments on their shop because their interest rates were too high. Mr. Jensen’s friend thought Mr. Jensen might be interested in taking over the loan. Mr. Jensen looked into the offer and discovered that he could lower the couple’s interest rate dramatically and still make quite a profit. He decided to meet with the couple and discuss buying their loan. Mr. Jensen met with the couple and explained his role as a commercial note buyer. He told them the interest rate he would offer if he were to purchase their loan. The couple agreed to the plan and Mr. Jensen purchased the loan. Soon Mr. Jensen was making money and the couple’s cupcake business was booming!

As a CNA I get many question concerning adult diapers. The most common question is, “What is the best kind of diaper, disposable or cloth?” There is no simple answer because it all depends on personal preference. Of course, adult cloth diapers offer an advantage to the environment; however, the convenience of the disposable diapers are undeniable.
If you decide to go with the Adult cloth diapers, there are a few ways to make the process more clean. Before application, coat the cloth with a layer of baby powder or baking soda. This will reduce stains and sticking of stool to the cloth material. Additionally, when you change the adult cloth diaper, do so over the toilet. This will cut out additional steps in the cleaning process. Flush all that you can down the toilet and the soak the soiled clothes in warm water. If you can, do this immediately to avoid stains. I don’t recommend using bleach due to reactions it may cause.
Disposable diapers are less time consuming. As with the cloth diapers, empty as much as you can into the toilet. It may be helpful to purchase a diaper Jeanie to reduce the smell of the garbage and save on multiple trips to the garbage can.
Remember that each method has its own pros and cons. It may be best to integrate both into your daily schedule to accommodate to your location.

My Boyfriend Has Been Giving Me Gifts of NASCAR Clothing for Women
My boyfriend has been buying me some NASCAR clothing for women, perhaps hoping it will get me more interested in the sport. Just recently I bailed on a date we had set up that would involve sitting in a restaurant cocktail lounge watching NASCAR on the flat-screen TV. We had done that three weeks in a row, and I can only take so much. I have to admit the NASCAR apparel for women he has been giving me is really cute. I especially like the blue and white t-shirt he gave me last week. It’s very lightweight and will be perfect for summer casual wear.
The most extravagant NASCAR item he gave me so far was a heavy-duty jacket. I wore that all winter because it really holds up against the cold weather. He also gave me a long-sleeved fleece shirt that was very cozy to wear in the winter. Now that it’s spring, I’ve been kidding him that I need some NASCAR clothing for women for warm weather, and thus the arrival of the t-shirt last week. Maybe there will be more NASCAR gifts over the summer, too. I have my eye on a v-neck short-sleeved top; maybe I’ll point it out to him and mention how pretty it is.

PACS Systems Vary from One Facility to the Next
As a radiology technologies student, in class I learned a lot about the different types of tests and the machines necessary to run them. I learned how to set up and calibrate the machines and what steps are necessary to get good testing data. I learned that there are picture archiving and communication systems, also called PACS systems, but we did not actually interact with one until we started internship.
There are many different PACS systems, so most hospitals or medical offices expect that some training will be required. In our case, we did half of our internship at the hospital and half at an orthopedic clinic. While their PACS systems were compatible, the interface was different, so we got to practice with two different systems.
At the hospital the PACS system was just for the medical data and that information was fed into a larger system that handled billing and scheduling and maintained full patient records. At the orthopedic clinic, everything was incorporated into the PACS system. So when you pulled up the appointment, the system told you what test had been ordered, a little about the patient’s history and was already in the right place to upload the captured images.
